May 10, 2015 · Not many 318's here. There is only one hose (#3) and four (4) connections. The hose #3 is going to your Oil Separator (CCV or PCV) the water you see is likely condensation. How much water are you talking about - should only be a few drops. Should be noticeable moreso when it's cold outside and after a short engine run.

Nov 22, 2016 · Car 2:2003 320i sedan. Car 3:2004 wagon V8 project. Report post. Posted November 23, 2016. E46's are good cars but avoid the N42 and N46 engines at all costs. The earlier E46 318i had the M43 engine which is fine. The six cylinders are by far and away the better engine though.
Only very early N52's have that tiny hose that goes from CCV to the intake entry hose. Later years removed that hose, and the section where it attaches to the CCV has been made to be open to atmosphere. It is a small nipple on the top of the CCV. It has a "dust" cover on it, which may have fallen out and lost if played with before.
Gonna be real here. I’ve seen all sorts of methods to deleting/bypassing/modifying the CCV system on M52Tu/M54. The only solution I’ve found that truly actually works and is a long term solution is to buy the original hoses from BMW and any replacement oil separator you can find. Is it a pain in the ass job? Yes.
